A group of volunteers are giving back to someone who's done so much for so many people in the Valley.
Local businesses and volunteers are donating their time and building materials to fix up Joe Lordi's home on Sugarcane Drive in Boardman.
Lordi is director of the Youngstown Gleaner's Food Bank. He's dedicated his life to help others while asking for nothing in return.
So, a few of Lordi's fellow food bank volunteers decided to round up the workers and supplies to renovate his house as a nice surprise.
"Local churches have donated, individuals have donated and helped out," said volunteer Don Nye. "We're not extreme makeovers, but this is a pretty good makeover."
Local contractors and businesses donated new windows, roofing shingles, paint, wood, flooring and materials to redo nearly every room in Lordi's house. Volunteers said they'll work through the weekend to get the job done.
